Mindful Self-CompassionBeginning Monday August 20th, 7:30-9:00 PM
Description: This group will meet once per week for 1 1/2 hours for 10 weeks. The group is devoted to the learning and practicing of mindfulness and the development of self-compassion. Both practices are closely interrelated and can help one develop a healthy relationship to one's thoughts, emotions, and sense of self. These practices have the potential to enhance one's clarity, happiness, confidence, life satisfaction, and the quality of one's relationships. The group will have 3 parts: study and discussion of the book, the mindful path to self-compassion, by Christopher Germer, PhD., learning and practicing mindfulness and self-compassion skills, and the sharing of group members' experiences.
The group is facilitated by Stephen Emerson, LCSW, psychotherapist in private practice and long time mindfulness practitioner.
Dates and time: 10 Mondays, August 20th through October 22nd from 7:30 to 9:00 in the evening. Possible date change September 3rd (Labor Day) depending on members' schedules.

Fee for the group is $200 with a commitment for the entire 10 weeks required. Participants will need to acquire the book the mindful path to self-compassion by Germer.
